Default torqueing down poly diff bushing...

im trying to finish up reinstalling my diff and i dont know if i have a problem or not.

my book says to torque it down to 55-75lbs. but the bushing keeps compressing down on its self and im only geting it to 40lbs or so.

do i just keep going at this until it compresses down far enough that it hits 55-75lbs or is there something else i should be doing with poly bushings?

its for a 69.

For the poly you go to 40LBS

This should help. http://www.vbandp.com/instructions/h...ruct/31040.htm

Did you end up rebuilding the differential?

it was an Auburn housing so there was no rebuilding. everything looked to be in decent shape anyways. i just replaced the two snap rings on the yokes which took out all the end play on both of them. sealed it up, put two bottles of GM posi additive in, and filled it with Lucas 85-140.
