Default Warning buzzer won't stop.

My warning buzzer will not stop when the headlights are on. How do I disconnect it? Thanks for any advice.

Check your 10 amp "Gauges" fuse.

Default Disconnect the Limit SW at the headlights

Either fix/adjust/disconnect the limit switches at each headlight. You'll have to reach up from under the nose of the car to get to the switches/connectors.

Sorry about that, it a 78 L-82, 4 speed. It went off and on a few times, but then stayed on the rest of the night. I'll check that fuse right now.

Fuse looks fine, and the gauges still work.

And I just looked around the vacuum cans for the headlights, but couldn't find any electrical components.

Default '78 May Not Have Limit SW's

My suggestion concerning the limit sw assumed '78's were the same as ''69-70dish's. Not sure if that's true.

1977-1978 used this style of buzzer,
At your fuse block might be a black box about 2.5”x2.5”. It plugs into the main fuse box and is held in by a plastic clip on one side. There should be a gray wire leaving it with a green plastic connector on the end. Unplug the wire at the steering column and unplug the buzzer from the fuse block. I have seen a couple of styles of buzzers but typically this is what to look for.

Oh, thanks a million! I immediately saw the box on the side of the fuse box. Popped it off, stuck it back on. No more problem. It had apparently just vibrated loose. This forum is awesome!!
