i have a 68 327/350hp drained entire fuel system including tank, pump and carb cleaned inside manifold from carb removal everything looks ok put fresh gas in still just turns over smoothly no start No spark at plugs or coil replaced coil have 12 v at pos terminal of coil ,coil wire ok have continuity in wires replaced everything in distributer including cap regap new points- points have power to them it acts as if there were a igniton cut off but there is not the ignition key seems ok but i was reading that a bad ignition switch would make it seem as if the coil was dead does anyone have any suggestions or know of a solution??

That system is pretty simple. Power to the coil Positive side. Ground through the points, every time they close and then open, there will be a spark. Make sure the condenser is good.

maybe the coil is dead.....but i bet the power line coming to the coil when you are cranking is disconnected, broken or not hooked up properly
bypass the ignition switch with a "jumper start up switch" found in old tune up kits...that will eliminate the ignition switch....when you are cranking the engine what kind of voltage are you getting to the positive side of the coil? you need to check this when the engine is being cranked.
remember you have two different voltage lsources coming to the coil ...one is through a resistor wire when the igniton is on and the other is when the ignition is being cranked......have you checked the wiring at the solenoid? i would look at the wiring at the solenoid and the ignition switch
