Hello, I would be interested in the manufacturer, plug #, and gap that the forum is using in their strokers. My 388 stoker with a MSD setup is using Autolite AR3924 gapped at .45
With three different 406 engines, both iron and aluminum heads with CRs of 9.4 to 10.75, I've run gaps of .055 to .075. Setting the gap at .055, the gap will eventually grow larger. Even at .075, I have never had a misfire all the way to 6500 rpm, but the larger gap makes the engine run better because the MSD-6 has plenty of energy to fire the larger gaps. At partial throttle, the benefits are quite noticeable. The rationale is that a longer spark length exposes more molecules to the sparks energy.
Brand of spark plug has not made any difference but I won't run multiple ground electrode type plugs because the multiple electrodes get in the way of the flame kernel, and you don't want to put the flame out. Besides, multiple ground electrodes do NOT have a spark to each electrode - you only get one spark per firing. Multiple spark ignitions, of course, will have multiple sparks at slightly different times, but this is NOT due to multiple ground electrodes.
