Long story short…I ordered some new wheels from Discount Tire about 4 weeks ago. The guy called today and said that they are in but that they were 120 bolt pattern instead of the 120.65. He checked the invoice and called the wheel manufacture to see if it was a mistake. They said that they don’t make the wheel/offset combination I ordered in 120.65. They said that there was enough play in the 120’s to fit the 120.65 pattern.

Is this correct, has anyone done it before? Will they fit safely?

Somewhere between me, Discount Tire and the manufacture there was some miscommunication. Probably on my end!

I personally would not do it. The lugs need to be perfectly centered in the holes for the nuts to hold the wheel on perfectly centered. Even if the wheel is hub centric, I think you would have balance problems. One lug nut would get tightened and pull the wheel to that side ever so slightly. But because the next nuts now don't have the same 'play' they won't seat properly and probably won't give you an accurate torque reading.
