I have been running Steeroids now for a couple years and I rate it an A+. I would never go back to the stock system. There are other vendors of this kit which have a lower price than the link you have given. Check out the link on my site.
IF you have decent fabrication skills, or know someone who welds really good, you can do your own conversion for some 200 bux or so, but that is junkyard engineering....and knowing your safe from all your own knowledge and testing....
I also rate the steeroids as A+. My first impression was not good and influenced somewhat by the forum naysayers but if you take your time and get the geometry right it works really well. Some here complained of stress cracking of the mount brackets but I have watched mine closely and have seen no evidence of this.
I installed my Steeriod R/P. The job it self was easy. Follow the directions to the letter. Now she handles like a dream. I drove through the mountains of Tenn. and I had the best time. you will love it!
Steeroids is the second best mod I've made to my '80. A GM PP 350 HO crate is the best. If you don't want the light feel of the out-of-box Steeroids, just add the power-assist limiter. I highly recommend Steeroids. It was EASY to install and has worked flawlessly for several years. Some guys who really push their C3 may disagree, but for spirited cruising, Steeroids are great.
It's just a reducer that fits in the pump outlet. Give SpeedDirect a call if you want to know more or order one. I think it cost $16, but that may have changed over a couple of years.
