You have a desirable car there. That's the last year of the chrome bumper era, and a lot of people also like the rear window on the 70-74's so you have something that a lot of people would really like.
You should post that up for sale on the 2nd Gen Camaro web site NastyZ28.com. It's one of the best sites on the web for resto/mod work on GM cars, similar to the Chevelle and Pro-Touring sites. I think you'll have some good luck there.
I'm a 2nd gen Camaro guy through-and-through. My first car was a 78 Camaro, and I'm doing a frame-off resto-modification to it now.
Good luck with your sale. As already mentioned I don't think you'll be able to get the same price for the car as you paid for it before removing half of the value (the powertrain) but you can recover a large part of your investment. You're probably close on your analysis, as GM didn't install 12-bolts in Camaro's after 1970. They did have big blocks as options for at least a year or two more, but I don't remember how long- maybe as late as '73. It's a Type LT rather than an RS or Z/28 but it still has plenty of potential.
