Headlights Open After Engine Shut Off
Re: 1972. Headlights opened very slowly when I bought the Corvette. Traced all the vacumm hoses (per troubleshooting guide) and located leaks at the headlight actuator relays. Replaced the actuator relays and the seals on the larger acuators. Headlight opened/shut properly for several weeks. Now the headlight assemblies open as soon as I shut off the engine, about 75% of the time. ??? Any ideas?

Remove the check valve that keeps the vacuum in the system when the engine is shut off. Manually test is with your mouth, making sure you can only suck one way. If it's bad, replace it, and that might be your problem.
