My '81 weighs 2785# with me in it. 505ci w/iron closed-chamber heads. Went 5.64 @ 122 in the 1/8 mile last Thursday night and I weighed it after the run.
Are you running a plexiglass rear window. What other weight mods? Where do I go for more info on your car?
Bee Jay
No plexiglass. All original glass and working power windows. The chassis is back-halved with a Dana-60 rear, ladder bars, coilovers, etc. Front suspension is pinto components and rack. All original fiberglass, even the hood. I just added a scope to it. Factory dash. Full 12pt cage, 2 racing seats and seat belts. I bracket race with it and have been very successfull.
A lot of cars here are lighter than I would have thought. I weighed one of my 1971 LS6's on a certified scale. Weight was 3340 lbs. Car was on empty (really empty), no one in it, with PS, PB, T/T, Rear Defog, AM-FM stereo, with all original F 70 15 tires (all 5), car is completely bone stock, no mods.
As you get older, you inevitably gain weight but I never thought that phenomenon happens to cars. On 10/23/2010, I posted that my C3 weighed 3220. Today I weighed her and she is at 3320. That's a 100lb gain. I can't figure that out. I think I know where about 25lbs came from but that's truly weird. I bet the 10/23/2010 weight was wrong because 200lbs off the nominal weight without doing anything always seemed weird. Well I have contacted Jenny Craig to see what she has for C3 Corvettes because I've gotta really get to 3200lbs now!

That is why I weigh with as little fuel as possible. Fuel alone can add 100lbs. I used to race with as little fuel as possible too,but this fuel injection goes nuts accelerating, braking, and cornering hard with less than 1/4 tank. I need to weld a sump pan to the tank. I'm still sucking it up thru the original pickup/sender.

My 82 was 3064 lbs. (full tank of gas), now it should be a bit less - I removed the Misfire injection and all associated wiring in favor of an Edelbrock and Holley. I will weight it again soon.
AC/heat/fan/associated wiring removed
Power steering removed
Emissions removed
Cruise control removed
Spare tire removed
Aluminum radiator
Aluminum water pump
Electric headlight actuators
Converted from 700R4 to Super T10

Reason: Add notation regarding fuel level
My 80 was 3250 lbs with me and half tank of gas. Aluminum heads, radiator, but that was years ago. Over time, I'm sure it's gotten lighter as things are modified or removed.
3120 lbs with 1/2 tank, no driver. Has a/c, all power and a heavy t-56 six speed. AFR alum heads/intake, serpentine setup, alum radiator, mini starter, electric headlights, rear mono spring and no spare.
Future weight reduction plan...light brakes, alum flywheel, coil overs, a-arms, lighter wheels and some of Beejays tricks (door mods and front vacuum canister)
We have an certified vehicle scale at my work so if anyone is in San Antonio, TX Pm me, im always weighing my buddies rides lol
