HOOD cable broke

From the wiper compartment. There are two plugs, one on each side. Pop those out then use a long screwdriver through the hole to release the hood latches. If you just broke the cable from under the dash, then you should be able to just do the drivers side and it should pop the passenger's side as well.

Had that happen to my 75 Vert about 6 months ago. I couldn't get to the latch from the top because I have an aftermarket windshield wiper cover....so I went from the bottom...jacked the car up, crawled underneath and with a flashlight and a long screwdriver, I was able to push the latch open...took about 5 minutes.
