PS Pump Upgrade?

My 74 has a stk PS pump. It leaks and makes noise as well as being the weak link in my Hydraboost. Is there a better pump to upgrade to, the stk is hard to fill. What are my options? TIA

You can get a rebuild kit for abiout $20. Its an easy job, so real special tools required. If you have to low pressure on the system I think you can change the reliefe valve spring seat pressure to cure it.

I don't know about an upgrade, but I bought a reman from Advance about 3 years ago and haven't had any problems with it.

I bought an AGR Pump from Summit. Works fine - no problems. A rebuilt OEM Saginaw pump is probably just as good though (and cheaper).

I've have the same question. I saw a car Saturday with a late model power steering pump with a remote reservoir. It looked way cool. Can we do that with our C3 Corvettes?

Same here, I used the AGR, so far so good.

Just make sure that you remove the spring, valve, and plunger from the back of the pump to transfer to the new pump. If the spring is bad, confer with Jim Shae about getting a proper new one. You want to keep the pressure regulated the same as it was stock.
