Default 74 signal light problem

turn signals will not work although lamps will light with parking lights and hazzard light. Fuse and flasher are fine. Any thoughts ? Thanks

Which flasher did you check? Did you replace the signal flasher on the passenger side clipped behind the knee pad? A lot of people assume the flasher on the fuse panel is the signal flasher when it is actually the hazard flasher.

Unplug and reconnect the harmonica connector under the column. Clean the contacts before re-connecting it and see if that helps.

Might just be the switch.

If the hazard signals work, it's not the bulbs or lights. Have you swapped the hazard and the turn signal flashers to see if the problem swaps also? If not, try that. I know you said the flasher was good, but..... If you do the swap and nothing changes, the problem must be in the column wiring and/or turn signal switch.

Thanks. did not realize there was another flasher for signal lights. I did locate bracket for this flasher but it has no flasher in it??? Apparently the signal lights worked just fine with out this flasher. How is this possible and does this suggest the problem is the switch ?

Go looking for the flasher it is tucked up under their somewhere. People tie them up higher so the wires don't hang down.

The hazard flasher is located on the fuse panel at driver's feet... The turn signal flasher is behind the right side dash panel...usually in a clip at the bottom right--sometimes wrapped in a harness wire higher up. If you find the flasher socket (2-spade terminal female socket, recepticles at 90 degrees to each other), just swap over the hazard flasher to see if it will make the turn signals flash. If so, just buy another flasher unit and put it in the hazard socket.
