Becool offers radiators in two finishes, natural and polished. The polished version is about $100 more than the natural. If "shiney" is your definition of "looks so much better" then I guess I'm ok with that.

My definition of looks or apperance is not just the finish but the configuration of the radiator. I believe our radiators look much closer to factory due to the fact we use press formed end tanks, GM type channels, and mandrel bent tubes.

I don't know anything about the Be Cool radiators and couldn't care less how "nice" they look. I'm very happy with a stock look myself anyway, it's only a radiator.
What I CAN attest to from personal experience, aside from how well the DeWitts units fit as a true drop in replacement and their cooling ability, is Tom's customer service. It is, hands down, the best customer service i've ever experienced, from ANY vendor, automotive or not.
I had a small issue with the radiator in my '65. It was the unit that was in my car when I purchased it so had no idea if it was the original unit or a replacement and if a replacement what make. I posted a pic of it in a thread and Tom identified it as one of his units that was 8-10 years old at the time (this was about 2 years ago).
When i mentioned the issue I was having he said no problem, pack it up and ship it to him and he would take care of it, which he did, at NO CHARGE.
I'm not aware of ANY vendor that is willing to stand behind their product that well that will cover the repair of the unit being 8-10 years old AND I wasn't even the original purchaser.
To me that is simply outstanding service, standing behind your product that well with no questions asked.

i'm going to need a new radiator for my '78 but i'm waiting until I can afford it which I currently can't and i'm not even considering any other brand other than a DeWitts radiator for the car. Luckily, the existing original stock unit is still working sufficiently to hold me for now until i can get the money for the new DeWitts but if push came to shove i'd park the car and just not use it until I could get the DeWitts rather than fool around with another brand. Tom's customer service was enough to make me a very loyal customer (even if he did forget about giving me a t-shirt at Carlisle that he promised me a few weeks beforehand When I went to the booth to meet him I didn't remind him though since it wasn't important and i'm not greedy to beg for a t-shirt )

Ron I put a mild 406 in my 1980 L-48 Corvette. It has auto and air. I put in a 160 deg thermostat. ALL of the shroud, seals and spoiler pieces were intact. The factory radiator was kept very clean(internally and externally). Engine temps always stayed at 160deg except on VERY hot days when I turned the aircon on and idled in traffic. Then, the heat gauge climbed through the roof until I started moving again or turned the aircon off. Obviously, with the factory system fully perfect and optimal, the radiator and factory clutch fan barely kept up with the mild 406. Your L-82 radiator may be heavier duty the my L-48 rad. I build my own engines and I'm a firm believer that once your engine hits its operating temparture, you don't what the temp moving around at all.
Internal engine parts expand and wear differently at different temps.
I hope that this helps. Good luck
