if it turns bright red like its about to melt is a sign that i know very well of. at one time i had a 75 chevy impala with a bad convertor and it used to blow little pellets out the mufflers when i reved it. that was a sign too

That's the reason I ask. At WOT it bogs(and surges) bad at about the point you would hit second (auto). Ive done all fuel pump filter wires timing etc. Rebuilt carb by a knowlegeable mech etc etc....Guess Im gonna go with a dynotune to figure it out. 200 bucks plus you get the dyno reports, before and after. Been refered to a place locally.
