I read that it is located near the fuse box, but cannot find it. I found some LEDs that will work for the brake lights but need a special flasher module for it to work. I like the idea, but I can't find where it goes.

If yours is a 69 I am going to guess it is like my 70 and the flasher is under the passengers side lower dash panel. If you lay on your back and look up under the dash panel you should see it under there toward the lower right corner. Hope this helps. Let us know if this is correct.
The one under the console is usually for the alarm system if I remember correctly. The one on the fuse panel is for the hazards.
Cool, I've always heard it working. So if I put in LEDs, I guess I have to do them both? They both require a certain current draw I assume. Thanks fellas!
There are two flasher modules...one for the hazard warning lights and one for the turn signal lamps. Since the same bulbs are used for both circuits, you will have to replace both flashers with the solid state flasher modules. Neither will function correctly unless you do.
Geez! Have you done this? Do you know of ones that work? I ordered all four different ones from SuperbrightLEDs.com because they are so cheap. Can I put the same one in for both?

Well, out of the four flasher modules I bought, only one worked and it does not do the clicking noise. The 4-ways work perfectly when all the other lights are off (and make a clicking noise) and go from dim to bright, otherwise they just stay on. I have replaced all my 1157s and 1156s with Luxeons and all the side markers with 12-way LEDs. The blinkers work great now. I declare success.
