Default Side Pipes and Rear End

I have a 69 350 300 horse auto. I want to add side pipes and rebuild the rear end. My mechanic told me he'd do the whole thing for $1100 but I have to buy the pipes. I found some pipes on summitracing.com and wanted you guys to check them out and tell me what you think. I also need to get installation kit.

Here is the link
http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...DS=1&N=700+115

I also want to change the gear ratios to make the car faster off the get.

any suggestions/opinions would be appreciated
thanks.

I have a '70 and a few years ago I bought the sidepipe kit for about $800- completely bolt on for the Corvette - comes with fiberglass covers which you can easily paint any color. Cost about $200 to have installed. Most vendors have this kit. You won't get burned and look great.

Hi CAAAA,
I really don't know much about side exhaust except for the 69 original type.
BUT, I wonder how good they can be for only $200.00. Plus, the word 'Universal' always makes me nervous.
Regards,
Alan

PS: I like PETKAH'S suggestion.

pipes can be expensive new- both the orig type or the header/sidepipe chrome jobs.
Rebuilding a diff with new gears plus the pipe labor for $1100? either you're getting a great deal or a std rebuild at best. Most of the rebuild jobs advertised everywhere are in the $600-$800 range and are basic master kit jobs with clutches. Gears, yokes, spider, etc are not included and often added on for a lot more money then most expect. I would do some research and ask a lot of questions before dropping off the car.
