I had my Vette painted recently. The painter removed the doors as part of a complete paint job and then remounted them and installed new weatherstrip that I provided. I haven't had the windows up on the car since I got it back from him in June. The other morning, on my way to a show, I rolled up the windows and there was a gap between the weatherstrip at the back of the window and the glass of over 1/2". Even with the T-top out, the wind was roaring through that gap. The car's doors fit perfectly. Gaps are even and consistent front and rear. The line at the top rear of the door lines up with the fender line. Why would the stupid window be that far from sealing. I spoke with the painter and he said he didn't do anything with the glass alignment and that the new weatherstrip went back into the same place the original stuff had been. Anyone have any ideas about whats up with this?
Hi RT69,
There's a WHOLE page of instructions and procedures in the AIM for adjusting the door glass. It moves up, down, forward, rearward and tilts in and out. It's on UPC 1, Sheet K 11, for a coupe. If you don't have an AIM for your car (you should) perhaps someone can send you a scan of the sheet.
Regards,
Alan
