Egg Crate Grills
Were all original "egg crate" grills on 1970-1972 completly chrome until painted? The ones on my vette were completely painted years ago when the car was repainted. If possible I would like to return them to the original look.

Thanks, now I have to decided on how to remove the paint on the horizantal grates and leave the paint on the rest. I hope that I don't have to remove the paint from the entire grill!

Hi 7T1,
70 cars (and early 71) had a slightly different grill that not only allowed but also required that only the horizontal strip of chrome be unpainted. Until you see the two right next to each other you can hardly tell the difference. HONEST!!!

PS: Not that it matters, but, they look even more different on the back side.
