1970 Radio Question
My radio sound pretty crappy from the the passenger side speaker. The radio was restored several years ago, When I pulled the dash I see an amp hooked to the drivers side speaker but the pasenger speaker goes straight into the radio. There is very little volume coming from the passenger side.

Is that an "amp", or just the original Delco 'convector'? The convector is a finned aluminum heat sink with one power transistor (for mono; or two for stereo). The convector is merely located behind the right dash pad; both speakers are connected to it. If you have a mono radio and one speaker is cr@ppy, the problem is your speaker. If you have a stereo system, you need to find the colored leads going to the two speakers and swap them to see if the cr@ppy sound stays with the same speaker [then the problem is the speaker] or if it swaps to the other speaker [then it is a convector or head unit problem...probably a bad capacitor or transistor on the convector].
