C3 Troubleshooting-HELP!!!
So I am in the process of restoring an '82 and I have hit a major roadblock. I have replaced the fuel pump, filter/strainer, the fuel delivery system, throttle bodies, cleaned and blown out the fuel lines, and pretty much everything else that I can think of to get it up and running again. When I start the car it will run just fine for 5-10 minutes and then die.
A few of my mechanic friends think this may be an electrical issue and told me to take out the fuse panel and thoroughly clean all the connectors and replace it.
Does this sound like something that I should waste my time doing?
Any other thoughts or ideas?

Does the '82 have that oil pressure switch inline with the fuel pump wiring, so if the fuel pressure drops the fuel pump shuts down? I had to replace that on a '91 Truck engine. That guy chased the problem for weeks before we finally replaced it and that was the problem. The oil pressure switch was bad.

if you replaced the fuel pump with the correct year pump, this could be your problum, i had the same problum and i used a pump for an 84 corvette, it use's a higher pressure and this gives a smoother idle and better pickup, its cheap to try, only about 40 bucks, good luck

it does sound like a electrical problem .when it shuts down and you try to restart it ,do you have spark ?if not i would check distributer .do you have gas ?if you changed the fuel pump already it should be okay .check with a fuel pressure gage . i would check the coolant sensor temp switch in the front by the water pump .if you want to upgrade to a better fuel pump, you need a 1985.

I am back.... and in no better position than I was earlier this week.
I have not had a chance to try any of the three suggestions given yet but now when I try to start it, it just won't!!! She is being stubborn, any new suggestions?

It won't turn? Or it will turn but it won't fire? Does the engine turn at normal speed or is it slower than usual?
