R4 Compressor conversion from A6
Can anybody who is running the R4 compressor tell me what AC hoses will work or what you did to convert them? I am thinking about getting the GM High Performance serpentine belt conversion from the gen II small block but I'm just unsure of how to hook up the R4 compressor.
If your hoses are long enough you can just hook it up. I used a serpentine system (C4) with R4 compressor on a '71 pickup and used stock hose. It was a tad tight, but not horrible. If it is a 73-6 , just use a 76L-77 hose. Or a good auto parts store can custom make one for you.
I have a 71 and this is what my hoses look like. They have a muffler it has the high side and the low side in a block that bolts to the back of the compressor.

You really don't want a R4 in there at ALL, worst a/c compressor ever put on a car.....long way to hell from the outstanding A6, but something from a '88 -91 vette is a A6 knockoff in design, made by Sanden/Sankyo/Nippondenso??? anyway, use that one, far superior and same weight as a A4.....
takes to 134 much better too...better front seal....
