Default Rochester 2gc accel pump again

Hi everyone, well it happening again. I have a 1978 gmc 1/2 that I use on weekends only and it appears that the accel pump needs to be replaced again. This is going to be the 3rd time in about 5 years, the one in my vette is 2 years old and already is getting funny. The replacement accel pumps are from echlin and have been pretty good. I suspect that the fuel in my neck of the woods, Manitoba, Canada is the problem. I believe that are gas is now mandated to have 10 % alcohol. Is it possible that the gas additives are creating this problem ? what can I add to the gas or do to stop the often replacement of the accel pump on the q jets for the truck and vette ?
Thanks

Buy the ethanol-compatible accel pumps instead of the standard pumps -Echlin lists them in their catalog.

Thanks for the tip Lars, I checked some of the old posts and would it be advisable to spray a little wd-40 on the plunger when installing it ?

Thanks

Yes, but that only helps during assembly and dry-storage of the carb prior to it being used the first time. The moment the bowl fills with gas, the WD is lost.
