Default Oil Cap for 72

Is an oil cap on valve cover for a 72 LT1 interchangeable with a 78?

Hi Y1,
I believe original 72 LT-1, aluminium valve covers use a push-in, rubber, oil cap.
I believe the later original and repro aluminium valve covers use a metal, twist-in, cap.
So what style valve cover do you have?
Regards,
Alan

I have the rubber push in cover cap but due to splits it needs replaced! Where can I get a replacement?

I've bought both stamped steel twist and rubber "710" push in at local chain parts store. Dunno if they're exactly NCRS show grade but they fit & function AOK. IIRC, "STANT" was on the blister cards.

Hi Y1,
Jackson's solution is the easiest. If you want an original style, most of the vendors sell them.

Alan

I paid about $3 at Autozone for the rubber 710.
