Default Stud girdle ?

Hi

I browsed through E-bay and found this stud girdles.
What exactly do they do and what are they good for ?
When are they required ?
Can they be installed without modifying the heads ?
Just for my info.
Thanks, Gunther

I have used stud girdles for a small block and those look like they fit a big block. But what they are suppose to do is tie all the rocker arm studs to keep them from flexing and in line at high rpm.

The problem with BB stud girdles is that I think you have to use taller valve covers and they can interfear with your break booster. I don't know much about BB's but i've heard others go on and on about brake booster clearance.

They are for a bigblock and they do require tall valve covers and longer nuts. They really prevent the rockers from flexing. I set my solid lifters in the spring when the car comes out of storage and they stay set for the entire summer. Just back the valves off again when it goes into storage. I run hydraulic power brakes and not vaccum assist.

I'm using Grane's stud girdles. This will prevent possible any possible rocker movement and generally in high HP engine keep it together better. Yes you must use tall valve covers with them and with my previous covers I notched a small piece to get them clear the brake booster. Right now I'm looking for better solution for this. Solution might be Booster with smaller diameter.
That's it for now
