I know that I have a bone stock 79 L48 with 195 horsepower. I see you all know your gear ratios. Can anyone tell me what gear ratio mine has? Is there any way to tell what size gear ratio is in my 68? I know that it is higher because it was run at the strip. Any feedback would much appreciated.

Thank you

All rears had codes stamped on the bottom flange. Check that code. You can always fall back on the old turn the driveshaft and count the wheel revolutions method, if you dont think its the original ratio. Count how many revolutions per one turn of the wheel. That is your ratio.
