Most Reliable Vacuum Source
Where on my engine is the best reliable source of vacuum when using a vacuum gauge. I usually remove the vacuum hose on the intake manifold fitting that goes to the check valve for the headlights. any better areas?

That is the best one...but make sure all other vacuum system lines are pulled off the carb & manifold and that they are plugged off before you check vacuum level. Then adjust timing to see what max vacuum capability of your engine is. Afterwards, re-plumb the dist. vacuum can back in the system and reset timing. You should show about the same vacuum level as before [if the dist. vacuum can doesn't have a leak].
