Hi 70,
Jacks from the late 60, and early 70s did have a date stamp code.
The code was on the outer arm near the cranking end. the code is the last digit of the year followed by a letter for the month. For example 9M for December 1969.
Regards,
Alan

PS: My January 1971 built 71 has a jack with a 0L code.

I looked at my jack, the A is an easy find, i looked where Alan said and i see an obvious 0(zero), then about an eighth of an inch away it looks like an upside down "G" So it's safe to say it's a 70 July???? Thats a question, not a statement!!! Thanks!!!

Look for the dated code but never jack your car with one of those pieces of you know what, mine broke on me and dropped the car down, lucky I didn't have it all the way up yet. Probably used only 10 times

The A is supposed to be for Auto Specialties Manufacturing Co., of St. Louis, the company that made the jacks.

Default Date Code?

Here's mine. Build date is 13Apr'71. I've never used it to lift the car but it seems to function fine.

Alan, does this "date code" appear correct?

Hi Carl
1 B is 1971 February. If this was in your car originally then it does match with you build date of your car.

Thanks, Grant

If your jack has G 0 stamped on the side of the plate. Then you do have a July 1970 jack.
Thanks, Grant
