Default 400 block in my 68?

I have a 68 with the original 327 / TH400.. If I were to replace the engine with a 406 (and put the 327 on a stand) how nicely would it fit? Anything in the way? Mounts fit? Is the 400 block heavier? Suspension issues...
Thanks for the help

Small Block Chevy = Small Block Chevy

Everything should bolt up just fine. Just expect that a 406 will put a bigger stress on your cooling system and driveline so make sure those are all up to par.

Externally the small blocks are dimensionally identical.

That should be a nice combination for a powertrain, and the THM400 is plenty beefy for the power of a 406.

The 400 Block has bigger Bores so less metal so the Block weighs less than a 327. Though not enough to make any diffrence in a street car.

Bolts right in. 400 balancers are large and can interfere with power steering. But not an impossible problem.
