As you can see it sticks up out of the valve cover. The reason for this is new intake manifold and carb. The height is about 1 inch taller than factory.
Is there somewhere I can send this to have them make it longer by welding in a piece of material? Then it would work like the factory piece and I can get rid of the clamp.
It's hard to tell by eye balling it but you might be able to get it in a tube bender and bend the bottom of the tube enough to close the distance to the breather.
The only place that could bend this steel tubing that small would be a hydraulic shop with a steel tubing bender.
Try a farm tractor place, hydraulic hose repair/supply.
A local welder might, if you supplied the tubing, go to a junkyard and get another breather tube to cut up for material.
If you feel that the clamp is unsightly, just dump it. You don't need any type of clamping force on that joint...it is under vacuum, not pressure. If the hose is a loose fit, put a little silicone sealer on the connection that is loose. And, as mentioned above, you might want a little longer piece of hose for it.
Look at the connection at the valve cover. See how it sticks up, the reason for the clamp is that it will vibrate loose. I need to make the tube longer in the area that is vertical.
How about going all rubber? Go to an auto parts store and check out their selection of pre bent heater and bypass hoses. Cut off the steel tube an inch or so above the valve cover to fit the hose to it.
