I know I have read it before but can't seem to find the info now.... aren't the 70 and 71 seat cover designs the same and the 72 different. If I remember correctly the stitching is from side to side on the 72 and front to back on the previous years....

does anyone know the details or maybe have pics??? Thanks

Sully

I know the 'leather pattern' vinyl seats I have in my '72 with Dark Saddle were ordered that way, and are from side to side....

I had the OEM comfort weave on there from years previously, but damn If I remember the direction of the pleats...I want to say fore/aft.....sorry....

I read that they changed from front to back pleats to the side to side in late 71. My end of May 71 has the front to back.

I believe that '69-75 Comfortweave vinyl seatcovers are the same; and '70-72 leather seatcovers are the same.

Hi Suly,
I think people are close.
My info says the front to back pattern was for VINYL 70-72 and LEATHER for 70 to mid 71 covers.. The side to side pattern was for late 71 and all of 72 LEATHER covers.
Regards,
Alan

Also confirmed by Dr. Dobbins in his book. 72 leather pattern is one year only.
