Default Seat Removal

Can someone please confirm procedure for seat removal in my '74? I can see the bolts in the front of the seats but I can't slide the seats forward when I move the lever (tracks seem frozen). Do I need to slide them forward or should they be removed another way?

You may not be able to 'push' the seat all the way forward by hand. Sit in the seat and 'pull' the seat forward with your arms and legs all the way to the front stop. The front-inside corner of the seat bottom sometimes hits the center console, and unless you move the seat with your body, you won't get it all the way forward.

Hi D,
I don't know if this is what you're asking or not but... the seat needs to be almost all the way back on the tracks to get at the front bolts and all the way forward on the tracks to get at the rear bolts. The bolts twist off very easily, use lots of rust buster first.
Regards,
Alan

The tracks on my wife's 69 vert were dry and covered with surface rust. W/o my fat azz sitting in the seat and pulling it forward, it wouldn't/couldn't be done by (my) hand. A little TLC and some grease and they work fine now.
