Carpet install 73 vert

The old carpet that was in there was not original and looks like it had been replaced piecemeal on several different occasions. The piece on the rear bulkhead did not have sown edges, and it was cut separate from the piece on the rear compartment floor, so I can't really use it to compare with the new one.
I checked the invoice and I did order a convertible carpet set, and the part number on the box matches, but I suspect that the piece included with my carpet set is for a coupe.
Is the rear compartment bulkhead shorter in a C3 coupe than it is in a convertible?
If so, is this the only difference in the carpet sets between the two?
I am hoping that I can just get the vendor to replace the one piece so I don't have to ship the entire set back to them.

Your picture shows what is the stock configuraton for 72-73 convertible rear carpet. It ends just below the astro-vent block-off plates.
If you want it to be higher I think you'll need to order a piece from a coupe and modify it to fit the way you want.

PS: Is your car an A/C car?

I wonder why they didn't bother to put carpet all the way to the top.

I guess this means that I will have to find a way to clean up the glue from the previous carpet install, but at least I will not have to return anything now.
It is an A/C car.
Thanks for the reply.
My understanding is that NON a/c cars had Astro-Ventilation doors and ducts where convertibles with a/c have the block-off plates. It's very GM to have just one carpet set to fit both cases.
Check into the rear carpet configuration for 70 convertibles. I believe it goes further up the rear bulk head, but may need to be trimmed.

Alan
