Starter doesn't dis-engage????????
Anyone ever had this issue - where the starter stays engaged with the flywheel (once you turn the key to "start" and release back to normal position)??? (350 L48 Auto)
Ignition Switch (lower steering column)?

I had the same issue caused by the starter binding against the flywheel. I loosened the starter and retightened and the problem went away. If that had not worked, I was going to play around with the shims to adjust.

The Bendix drive on the end of the starter shaft is shot. Just go to NAPA and tell them you need a new starter Bendix for your year/engine car. Low dollars and easy to fix...after you get the starter out.
