Coil Question?

For a 72 SB, What is the small round cylinder with a black wire coming out of it on the coil bracket? Does this attach to the negative post on the coil?

Its about the one inch tall.

Radio capacitor for less static. I need to double check wiring diagram but, should go on positive side of coil I think.

My '70 sb has the capacitor on the positive (+) terminal.

That capacitor has no effect on the engine...whether it is connected or not. It merely reduces the static in the radio when it is in use. You can run the engine with or without it.
