The wiper arms on my 71 get pinched in the wper dood if I turn off on the up swing. I have replaced saftey switch, wiper solenoid, relay and check all hoses, and bypass switch. Mike
Have you replaced the small vacuum switch on the passenger side that is under the coverright below the pass. wiper arm this might be your problem becuse this is what controls the door and wipers so they work in sync.
Hi Mike,
WRO87 is on the right track, the vacuum switch under the right arm can be adjusted so it doesn't signal the door it's O.K. to close until both arms are completly parked.
Are the arms adjusted so they park against the blade stop properly?
Regards,
Alan
Or...you might have the hoses connected improperly to that switch. The door should never close until that switch under the right side wiper is depressed when the wipers are 'parked'. If it does, the switch is bad, or the hoses are plumbed incorrectly, or the vacuum level is inadequate.
