Default Differential Identification?

Hi All, Just removed the rear spring on my 69 to inspect a bad leak I thought was the Diff plate seal. Now i think its coming from the diff case where the spring mount bolts go into the case. Are these bolts supposed to penetrate the diff case? If so how is this sealed?
The options on the car show GS2 and G81, 3.08 gear and a positraction differential carrier. The red tag says use limited slip oil, is this correct or have I been Bubba'ed.

Someone used bolts that are to long and they go into the case and break through to the oil. This is common among Bubba. You will probably need a new cover and use the correct bolts. Some have sealed this off but the correct fix is to replace the cover with a HD cover and use the right bolts.

Hi AR,
Those 4 bolts should be 9/16"-12 x 3 1/8". The rear 2 can be a little long, the front 2 can't be.
Regards,
Alan

Hi G, you beat me while I was looking for the length!

Ok guys, thanks. What about the oil, should it be limited slip or positraction oil?

These are the same thing. Limited slip and positraction mean the same thing so yes it should be that. Also get the GM posi additive.
