Default Help with half driveshaft

I had my 68 towed and unfortunately they hooked on to the right driveshaft near the wheel and under the strut rod to keep the tow strap low and off the body. I didn't realize they were doing this at the time.... The strut rod is bent up a pretty good amount from tugging on the car. Other than replacing the strut rod, what other possible damage could this have caused? How do I tell if the drive shaft has any damage? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

that sucks sorry to hear that!

The sock strut rods are not very thick and can be bent by what happened, there should not be any other damage but you should get the car off the ground and have a good look.

FYI when I strap my car to the trailer I run axle straps around the half shafts for strapping the car down and do not have and have not had any issues for 15 years.

You should always put the tow hook or strap around the shock mount at the bottom. This is where it tells you in the manual. I would not put it on the strut or half shaft. Thats just my 2 cents.
