GM did not release rwhp numbers, only gross HP. My guess is in the low 200's.

L46 produced 69 and 70 only and both rated at 350 gross flywheel hp.

L46 is basically an 11 to 1 version of the L82 as it uses the same cam.

Rear wheel hp? I would guess 250 to 260 rwhp.

I did my 70(370 gears) a few years back with a G-tech. 3-4 runs averaged mid 250's rwhp. 0-60 was a dog in the mid 6's. Forget the 1/4 time but I believe the speed was in the 103-105 range. Great top end ,dog out of the box

Might not be exact, but it sure was fun

That's interesting! Are you sure they are 370's? I have 370's in my 69 L-46 and it's insane at the low end! Been enough over a buck to be satisfied so it doesn't suffer at the top end either.

Insane compared to what?
The cam in the L-46 is not agressive in the low RPM range. Real screamer up top though.

I had rebuilt my 69 L46 last year. Dropped the compression down to 10.50,
Edelbrock Performer intake, stock 2.02 heads, stock Qjet, Hedman header, roller tip rockers, roller cam and lifters, crane cam. Had it dynoed and got like 320 HP, and 278 RWHP not the numbers I expecting after the rebuild. If I Put an Edelbrock head, it would give me another 30-40 HP. But that's going to be a long time from now. Just glad that it's running and on the road.

One reason why the L46 cam at low rpm is not as highly thought of as the 327/350 HP cam, in spite of the fact that the durations are nearly identical, is that the 327/350 (L79) cam is 4 degrees advanced versus the L46. Just advance the L46 by 4 or 6 degrees and smile!

Better yet, tighten the lobe separation angles with an aftermarket cam to 110 or 108 degrees.
