In 1980 a hitch was a factory option. I ordered a hitch from the U-haul site. Class 1 receiver hitch #76357@ rdc524 (2000#Capacity) $75.00 You can also contact them for more info.

Here is a NOS C3 hitch that I picked up from a GM dealership a few years ago. It is rated at 200 lbs tongue weight and 2000 lbs pulling weight.

If you have any welding shops or boat supply shops in your area give them a call. You might be surprised at what they may have hanging on the wall back in the corner!

My '75 convertible had one. It was purchased by the PO at, and installed by U-Haul. It was a 1" square receiver and was used to haul a golf cart trailer.
I think the price was somewhere around $200. I sold it a few months ago.

I had a hitch on a 69 (believe it was made by Valley) --- bolted to each side under leaf spring and had a drop down bar (for access to spar) --that attached to center frame behind license plate... --- Good luck --- J.T

I used to pull a trailer to the race track. It was fun pulling in with an old beatup vette and a wooden hardware store trailer!

Not mine, mine is the truck with the 57 bird on it and the red/white ski boat with the numbers behind it. But this shows a Vette can take it pulling a 19 foot Hydroflite.

Good job Kid Vette, I knew I had sold a few "very few" of those Corvette hitches as a GM Partsmanager, I just could not find a picture, A GM accessory in the 70s and early 80s. the hitch you have the picture of has a quick release pin for access to the spare tire, bolts on to the differential spring support and rear frame crossover. never a factory installed option, but was a dealer installed or over the counter GM accessory.

I'm looking for a hitch for my 73 Corvette.
Is there anyone that have one, or know where to buy?
