Default Hood Clearance Issues

I am finishing up a 68 vert with a 383 stroker in it. Original small block hood will not clear with air filter on it. Trying to figure out what my options are now. Big Block hood? what's the difference between the L88 and the Lt1? how about cold air intake of some sort? Ant other ideas i'm not thinking of? I already tried a 1 1/4" K&N drop base air filter and still no go.
Thanks,
-Tony

Tony,

If I remember correctly the LT-1 gives you 3/4" over the small block hood while the L88 gives you 1-1/2".

I have both so if you need me to I'll dig the spare out and double check tomorrow for you.

What color is your 68? I've got the L88 hood for sale in the FS section if your interested. Otherwise check with member vettesbydesign he sells just about everything you could need and is pretty reasonable.
