Can't believe I did this, but I took the flasher unit out two months ago and used it in another vehicle. Now that I want to replace it, I can't remember where it plugs in. Please help me in my old forgetful age.
Plugging into fuse box makes sense and was the first place I looked. '74 electrical schematic that I have also shows fuse box. With flash light I looked in vain for the place to plug it in, but didn't see anyplace to do so. Any '76 owners out there who can verify that it is on the fuse box or if not let me know where it is?
I also have a 1976 , if you lift out your tray in the backseat where your jack is located and feel around the front of the storage area you will locate a flasher unit attached to the back around mid point.I have one on mine and came across it while changing the brake console. that may be what you are looking for. The turn signal flasher in under the pass dash pad ,I just replaced mine. Hope that you don't have to change the one in the fuse holder because it can be a PITA.
I've seen the relay behind the luggage stop. Do you think that it is for the alarm horn? I just got my alarm working after many years and it sounds a steady tone. I'm thinking that it is supposed to beep. I have a "flasher" unit on the passenger side. It is held in place by a forked type clip attached to the dash panel. I'm thinking the 4 way flasher unit is located someplace else. Dariopop, is it possible to send me a pic of your fuse panel?

The 4 way flasher goes into the top left side if the fuse box. The turn signal flasher is under the right side dash. In the jack box from outboard to inboard is the wiper relay delay, the power antenna relay and the theft deterrent electronic control module. PG.
Contorted my body for the forth or fifth time, forced the big wad of wires out of the way, adjusted my glasses, positioned the snake light to shine light on the upper left part of the fuse box and finally saw the slots for the 4 way flasher. It is installed and the flashers are working. Thanks for the help!!
