How do you get the rubber grommets in the holes in the body? I just can't get them to pop in.

I'm not sure which grommet you mean but the ones on the firewall go in real easy with a little WD40.

I did it with a long metal rod and a BFH.

I agree - not easy, but that fiberglass seems to be pretty stout.

Hey guys, just heat a pan of boiling water and dip the plugs in an presto they go right in an swell right back out when they cool off. I used this trick building my 57 chevy the first time and it works without making a mess on the paint, I did use gloves and a taco thongs. Doctorgene

I assume you mean the grommets that are molded onto the battery cables where they go through the floor pan. Heat the rubber grommet with a hair dryer to soften it. Then use a little dish soap mixed with water and coat the grommet and hole. Work quickly here so the grommet doesn't get cooled off. It "should" snap into the hole.

Don't tell the wife, but I use her hair dryer for car projects once and a while. Works good installing new carpet also.
