So, buy some SEM vinyl dye and freshen them up. No need to change, unless they are torn/cut.

If the covers are original, they are leather center and vinyl sides.

The leather like seat covers we carry are made from the same vinyl used for the sides on the leather seat covers. I like the leather like covers, they are a cheaper alternative and look great.

Unless you are going with 100 percent leather! (Never a factory option 1978-1982 except for the 82 collector).

If you actually plan on driving your car, leather seating surfaces feel and breathe better than vinyl.

There's a reason cars come with cloth or leather seats these days.....

I have leather seats in my 80. They are oyster [lite colored] and difficult to keep clean.. When they get replaced, I going with the leather-like seat covers.

I installed leather covers in my 74 .... replaced my seats with 1980 cause i like the feel and comfort of these seats over the original 1974 seats....there's nothing like the feel of leather.... well worth the little extra i spent

The leather-like option from Willcox is a very nice and reasonably priced seat cover. I drive about 1,000 miles/year and expect they will last a long time when maintained properly.

i would go with the lether-like. i have had three sets of leather seats and none wear near as good as the vinyl i have had in the past. both my c-5's had what i would call premature wear. my z06 has less than 37000 miles on it and i need to replace the drivers side already. i also keep them clean and use conditioner on them. if you want breathability with vinyl then go custom and get the center perforated.

I bought those from Willcox last summer during one of their sales. The price including installation kit was $209.00 (plus shipping). The foam set was $132.00. I thought that those prices were very reasonable.

Material prices have since gone up so I would say those prices are history but at times, Willcox does have some real bargains for Forum members.

I vote leather like. I put new seat covers on my sons 77 and a couple years before that on my 85. They look and feel like leather. The cost of leather like sure beats the leather costs too. No one will ever know. Both sets came from Wilcox a very good place to deal with.

I just got the Leather for my 79 from Wilcox. Very well made and they look great. I actually got the whole interior package on the forum special price.
What I love most about them being leather is that they're not sticky in the heat. That and, well they're leather.
