Can anyone tell me how this light gets power? I just installed a new dash harness from Lectric Limited and I cannot get this light to light. The socket has a single black wire running to it, which seems kind of odd to me since black is suppose to be ground. I've looked at the wiring diagram in my AIM and this light isn't even listed. My wiper overide switch works fine, but the light doesn't come on.
It seems to me that the warning light circuit must depend on the position of the wiper over ride switch under the steering column. What are the wires at the switch, does the switch complete the ground so the warning light shines?
Regards,
Alan
I am a bit lost what you mean with this light.
Is it possible that 68 did not have such light at all ?
I can't even remember this on any other chrome bumper Vette.

Do you mean to the switch between the two vacuum leavers under the steering column?
On my early 68 comes to this switch one black wire, doesn't have Wiper Override light.

This feature was installed on later built 68s to let you know that the wiper over-ride **** was still turned to the left position. The 68 wiper system is unique. If the wiper over ride **** is left, in the left position, it will cause a slow battery drain. I guess the light was meant as a warning to prevent dead batteries.
It was my understanding that the override switch interrupted ground when engaged, stopping the wiper motor.
I always thought the Wiper Override light was an early 68 "feature" and that it changed to Headlight in later builds.
I'll see if I can ground the bulb and get it to come on.
Thanks!
