Should my electric fan push or pull (blow into the radiator or blow toward the engine)

Depends on which side of the radiator it is mounted on. If it's mounted on the engine side it should pull through the radiator and conversely if it's on the outside it should push through the radiator.

Look at the front of the fan unit and note the direction the blades are canted toward. If it is a inside mount fan the blades will turn so that the leading edge of the fan cuts the air and draws it inward toward the back of the unit.

If it is an outside mounted fan the blades will turn the other direction to push the air toward the front of the unit and through the radiator.

Thanks CCrane....I Googled fan directions & found all kinds of info. I always thought fans between the engine & the radiator blew into the radiator. Even at 63 I'm learning new stuff everyday. I still can't believe I did'nt know that ! Thanks again

Airflow needs to go into the front of the radiator and out the back [engine side]. If the fans are installed on the front of the radiator, they need to be "PUSHER" fans; if installed on the back, they need to PULL the air through.

If you think about it, if the fans were pushing or pulling toward the front of the car they would be fighting against the incoming airflow.
