72 c3 curse
Need help again! Rebuilt/restored my car last winter and among other things when I put the new clutch in it had a chatter in it so last week I bit the bulet and took it apart and replaced it with another new velao clutch as I expect to get it as a replacement once the factory checks out the one I sent back The problem is now is there is not enough
adjustment to get the 3" of free play out. This clutch seems ok but I will need to lengthen the fork rod! I did replace the clutch fork with a GM replacement this time. I'm told that there were two different types of throw out bearings over the years. Could that be the problem? All I know is that I don't want to remove the trany again. |I need to make the rod about 3/4" longer to get enough adjustment.

Hi TG,
Perhaps you might want to PM David Mayhew. He had a thread very recently in which he's been dealing with the same problem in his 71, LT-1. I believe his solution did involve the throw-out bearing.
