Here is the deal, my motor is rebuilt, RV cam, edelbrock intake ( high rise ) holly 600cfm , the problem is if i step on the pedal i mean punch it ! the motor hesitates for a split second bogs down? too much gas ? anybodys help or input to my problem? car runs great other wise.
It sounds like you are getting a weak accelerator pump shot.
With the engine off, looking into the top of the carb, see if you get
a good stream of gas from the accelerator pump when you open the throttle.
If that looks good, I would check the ignition timing.
Thanks, i will check the accelerator pump, i dont think its my timing though, i double checked that already, i will check it again though!! the car runs great unless i punch it!! just want it to run smooth. Thanks for your input!
It could be the accelerator pump, it could also be the float level. That's easy enough to check with a Holley. You say you've checked the timing, but is that just the initial advance? Have you looked at the advance curve now that you've done all those modifications to the engine. Was the distributor recurved, or is it still stock?
I don't know if it belong or not but ....
I think I have the same problem but I think my problem come from the secondary because my secondary diaphragm look bad, when I change the diaphragm I notice that it missing the metal ball in the passage, I try to ask here in the forum what the size of this ball and I asked Holley for this size but they answer me that they will send me the ball, I'm steel waiting. http://www.holley.com/data/Products/...199R8219-2.pdf
