Default Desktop Dyno 2000 Help

Hey Guys. I went to the ends of the earth today looking for Desktop Dyno 2000 only to find it less than a mile away from my house after all the driving was over. Anyway, I'm just learning how to use it, and I'm not all that great when it comes to engine stats, but I really want to learn. I want to put the stats in for my '77. I don't really know where to start. Its the base '77 with a Performer Intake, 600 cfm carb, K&N, dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. If anybody can help me out with any numbers to put in, I'd really appreciate it... (ie. engine bore, stroke, compression, heads (i downloaded a bunch of files), induction, and camshaft (got a bunch of files for that too))... If anybody has a file of the setup or for an engine I may find interesting I'd appreciate it if you could email it to me, 350s, 383s,427s, and 454s... I'd like to check them all out. Thanks guys. Its not too hard, just walk yourself through it. It has a all the most popular blocks already in all you have to do is pick them. Sorry I can't be more descriptive, I am stuck here at work, and I don't have the program on this computer but it is in the first section at the top left.

Have fun, I do!

Dale:
Desktop Dyno 2000 already has the engines bore/stroke/displacement in the program. Under the SHORT BLOCK catagory here is what you do. Click on the box to the right of Block you will then see three buttons. From left to right they are a down arrow, green check mark, red "X". Click on the down arrow. This will bring up all of the popular car manufacturers names. You then simply select the appropriate items.

As for your engine specifics, I'm not really sure. You have an L48 right? If so then your compression ratio is 8.5:1. Provided your heads are stock, the casting number is #333882.

Now for INDUCTION. Your Induction Flow is the cfm of your carburetor which would be 600cfm. You have a Performer intake so your Manifold Type would be a dual plane. You select these the same way you selected the specs for your block.

I honestly don't remember the stock cam specs. I am unsure of the valve sizes on your head but they are either 2.02/1.60s or 1.94/1.50s (intake/exhaust).

An L-82 will have the larger valves the L-48 will have the smaller. For milder motors it can be difficult to get the DD2000 to give you reasnobaly accurate numbers - but it is very good for making comparisons of various changes.
