Stupid of me for trying to burn some rubbers...I ended up burning the clutch
I got out of the highway and stopped to wait other cars to pass at the Y junction so I was there and fill like it was time to burn some rubbers....
rev it 1º gear released clutch and nothing clucht slipped and care advanced...so I had to let go the gas...then I felt the characteristic burned clutc smell
I continued driving normally...shift ok..so I wonder if I caused any severe damage? I didn´t try hard start. The clucth was rebuild like 10 years ago but since then only 3k or so miles were put to the car...
Is there a way to check clutch health w/o having to tear appart the tranny?
You probably didn't "damage" the clutch disc or the flywheel, but you may have glazed over the disc friction material. If you did, you will get some unwanted slippage under load at take-off. And the only thing you can do about it is take out the clutch disc and rough-up the surface again or replace the clutch disc. If someone else knows of a way to fix a glazed clutch disc in the car, give that a try before you pull it out.
