The 2001 8.1 engines had a piston problem that was resolved. I am not aware of any other issues specific to this engine that isn't shared with other GM V8 systems.

And....THEY FIT PERFECT

Only had to make some small adjustments on the driver header to clear the rack joints and right at the frame rail.
